Alright. Too much is happening too fast. Once again, I find myself committed to cataloguing this trip via consecutive blog posts, but can’t get to writing them until I am hundreds of miles further down the road and am in a completely different mindset from the one I was in when I actually experienced the events that I hope to describe. In my mind, I want to tell you about what is happening in Germany. The Nation of Israel has unleashed yet more horrors upon me, and that is what I am dealing with and thinking about as of today, all the while tens of thousands of things are happening in Germany, many wonderful, many bizarre, many unspeakable. But I never wrote that damned blog post about Flanders. And I STILL haven’t given Zack Snyder his Superman post, which I had committed to writing before his Rebel Moon post. So what the heck do I write for today? I’ll try to jot some stuff about Flanders down. A week ago I had an entire arc built around it. It was beautiful. But today I can barely remember that, and pretty much just need to get this Flanders post off my plate. So let me get it done.
Alright, so after Bruges I shot through Ghent to Antwerp. I didn’t have time to stay in Ghent because I had spent that extra day in Bruges. I just rode through Ghent and shot some amazing video, wishing I had been able to stay there and check out the town. I went straight to Antwerp in order to stay on schedule. Here is a link to the Strava ride. I know you won’t look at it. Or if you try, it won’t work. But the technodemons will make sure that uploading videos and pictures to this page will make this post take a week to complete.
I had no idea Antwerp was a significant Jewish city known for its diamond district. I had no time to really check the city out much. I looked on Google Maps to see if there were any synagogues in the city to go to. None showed up. It wasn’t until I was leaving the city that millions of synagogues showed up on Google Maps. At that time I didn’t think to take a screenshot of Google Maps not showing any synagogues and then another screenshot of it showing millions. The technodemons win again.
In Antwerp I stayed at an A&O Hostel, a hostel chain that I am learning to hate. Vagabonds everywhere, but no storage room to protect my $4,000 bicycle, and no lockers in the rooms to protect my irreplaceable documents. The documents that the Jewish Agency won’t let me give them. They are playing the game of telling me that I need more documents before I can give them any documents, and they keep telling me this until the documents I have are no longer valid and need to be replaced…by agencies on the other side of the world. The plan seems to be to keep me riding my bicycle around the USA, Mexico, and Germany until I contract some form of schizophrenia so severe that I have to be locked in a padded cell forever. But more on that later.
So Antwerp basically sucked except for getting to do my laundry in a restaurant. Here is the post on that for you not to click on or look at. I’ll try to add the info there to this post some day when I am out from under the technodemons’ clutches, but for now, that day will just have to be a link for you to ignore.
On the way through Flanders I went through the tiny Flemish town of Genk, where I had an absolutely amazing time with Rita and Robert and Wim and Schottie. You can ignore this Strava post that shows the way in and this one that shows the local environs along with this one.
From Genk I had planned to visit Liege, but at the last minute I found that Aachen in Germany would get me where I needed to go faster. The ride to Aachen was amazing. I describe it in another link.
All in all, Flanders was an incredible experience. Like a dream. Sometimes a strange one, but generally a great one, and one of the best experiences I’ve had in my life. But I am writing about it from the German concentration camp that the Jewish Agency is sending me to. So it you want to get the flavor of my Flanders journey, you have to click the Strava links, and if you want to know what I make of it all, and what of it I am taking with me into the future, you’re going to have to wait until I am free from the clutches of the technodemons and am able to put together blog posts that you will actually look at.
Okay, the Flanders post is done. I can move past. I hope you had a good Passover. Happy Easter.
